On Wednesday August 23, 2006 Squad 270 was on a brush fire call behind their quarters in the Long Island Railroad yard.  Just as we were in the process of taking up, a 1st due box went out over the air for a house fire around the block on 124st between 89Ave and Jamaica Ave.  E-308 got in 1st, due to our delay reporting a 10-75 for a fire on the 2nd floor of a 2sty private dwelling. Sq-270 pulled up and there was 2 lines stretched and 3 engines on scene so the 51 Battalion had Squad split up and check the basement to see if the fire started there and go to the top floor of the fire building and exposure to open up the ceilings cause the fire was in the cock loft with extension to the exposure.
