On July 21st it was a hot humid day in south Queens which turned out to be a busy day for Squad 270 as around 10AM in the morning they received a 10-75 box at 214st and 56Ave for a heavy fire in a private dwelling. After working at that fire for about a half hour Sq-270 was released and headed back to Richmond Hill to pick up a meal for lunch when the dispatcher put 270 on a box in Howard Beach due to numerous calls reporting a house fire. Within a minute of responding Engine 331 transmitted a 10-75 for heavy fire on the second floor of a 2sty private dwelling. Sq-270 was sent to check the basement and then help out on the 2nd floor. The division 13 transmitted a 2nd alarm for this job due to heavy fire throughout the second floor and attic area. Sq-270 was released after about an hour or so.
